Privacy Policy
This site is a personal blog. I try to collect as little about you as possible. This page explains what is collected and why.
What I collect
Analytics. I use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand which posts people read and how they find the site. This captures standard, mostly anonymised data such as pages visited, rough location, device, and referring source. I use it in aggregate. I don’t use it to identify you personally.
Email. If you subscribe, your email address (and name, if you give it) is stored with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which sends the newsletter on my behalf. I use it only to send you the writing and the occasional update. I never sell or rent it, and you can unsubscribe from any email in one click.
Cookies
Analytics tools set cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Third parties
The tools above (Google, Kit) process data under their own privacy policies. Some pages may load content from third parties such as YouTube; when they do, those services may receive your request data.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time, ask what data I hold, or ask me to delete it. Just email brendan@brendanaw.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
